Science and technology have always given answers to the difficulties of the present. Progress, innovation, growth offer solutions to problems and their complexity, which has grown exponentially in the digital age.
Thus, over time, great reliance has always been placed on digital tools and platforms, especially in the most recent decades: Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Blockchain, Robotics, Intelligent Machines and other innovations.
But how much attention is paid to putting the person first in the design of new innovative applications?
Often this has not happened and does not happen, even the thought of a New Humanism which sees man as a god and which tends to cancel the presence of God the Creator in the history of man of the third millennium is affirming itself.
We remind young people that wisdom is a guiding star for us human beings.
The great Poet: Dante Alighier wrote: “You were not made to live like brutes, but to follow virtue and knowledge”
So let’s ask ourselves about the sustainability of innovation and the limits of development, without accepting the fruits of science and technology in a closed box.
Ethics
We can give a name to this human wisdom: Ethics.
Ethics, understood in this way, involves every human being, every citizen.
We always remember the anecdote on Ethics.
One day they asked the great Persian mathematician Al Khwarizmi (c. 780 – c. 850) how the value of a human being could be defined.
He replied: “If he has ethics, then his value is 1. If he is intelligent add a zero and his value will be 10. If he is rich add another zero and his value will be 100. If, beyond that, it is a nice person, add yet another zero and its value will be 1000.
But if it loses the 1, which corresponds to ethics, it will lose all its value because it will only have zeros left “.
“It’s very simple: without ethical values and solid principles nothing remains. We are only criminals, corrupt and bad people”
We believe that it is possible to orient man towards the Good if the ethical virtues are taught or an example is given.
Aristotle and Platoe affirmed this have never been denied and Pythagoras described it well with his teachings whose principles have also been found by scholars in the Gospel Parables of Jesus Christ.
In every age, human beings have pursued happiness with efforts that have determined the evolution of the species, bringing it from the primordial caves to the way of life of today.
Humanity, in many centuries, has not so far been able to find an ethical model capable of eliminating violence and wars in order to dedicate resources to meet basic needs.
However, all peoples accept the rules of mathematics and science in perfect harmony without any international treaty that recognizes them: their validity comes from the evidence of the results.
The Pentalogue of Pythagoras.
For some time now, scholars and experts have finally rediscovered Pythagoras, a great philosopher and mathematician, let us mention one above all:Salvatore Mongiardo (1) with the Pentalogue, they were able to elaborate the mathematical equation of happiness: happiness = freedom + friendship + community of life and goods + dignity of women + vegetarianism.

That message of Pythagoras was not understood then, but now, it has been discovered and will be spread by the New Pythagorean School.
It is a unified ethical model, which we hope will be able to pacify the world because it eliminates conflict and violence at the root.
That is why, in my journey of the so-called last miles, I will continue to work to promote Ethics and, in particular, the Pythagorean Ethics.
With the Summer School of Pitagora in Crotone, from 29 October, I hope to contribute to promoting in the younger generations and not only the ethical values for a higher education of those who are about to become a ruling class, in particular in those who can rediscover the beauty and pride of their roots in Magna Graecia, in the Calabria today, but also in all those who already have responsibilities in the management of material and human resources, public and private, but unfortunately exercise them without adequate Leadership and an Ethics of Responsibility.
